This role will be a people manager and will own everything from closing the books to setting policy and process with other company leaders to enable rapid growth. EarthOptics uses compensation regions that vary depending on location, so ask your recruiter to share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.What youll cultivate as a Director: (Your responsibilities)Manage the monthly close process and review workpapers to ensure accuracy and compliance with US GAAPConsolidate financial statements across multiple entities for monthly and quarterly reportingBuild and refine financial models, forecasts, and scenario planning tools that actually help us make decisionsWork directly with the executive team to support fundraising efforts and manage investor reporting requirementsDevelop and document strong internal controls, accounting policies, and operational proceduresPartner with department leaders to budget, monitor spend, and track KPIsManage and streamline daily accounting operations, such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, and reconciliationsOversee tax and other government filingsMonitor financial performance and identify gaps or opportunities for improvement and cost savings, reporting findings and trends regularly at leadership meetingsCoordinate with external auditors, tax advisors, and other third-party partnersBuild and lead a lean, high-performing finance and accounting teamContinue to evaluate and implement financial systems and tools to grow with the companys needs as we scaleAre you our soil-mate Youll bloom in this role if you have the following experience: (Your qualifications)BS/BA or higher in Accounting or Finance6 years of progressive accounting / finance experience, ideally with time in a high-growth startup or VC-backed companyCPA with deep understanding and familiarity of US GAAPExperience completing annual auditsExperience working in Netsuite or similar ERP systemFamiliarity with ASC 606 (revenue recognition) and ASC 842 (leases)Experience with multi-national consolidationExperience leading and developing teamsWe are interested in every qualified candidate who is eligible to work in the United States.
