About the Role

Formed in 1882, Royal Prince Alfred Hospital (RPAH) is a major metropolitan tertiary referral hospital and a principal provider of specialist healthcare. It remains one of the nation’s most respected hospitals, with a distinguished history serving the health needs of local, statewide, national and international communities.


Working in partnership with the Chief Medical Wellness Officer and the MDOK team the Director of the established SLHD MDOK Centre, will provide strategic leadership in the ongoing implementation, evaluation, and promotion of physical wellbeing initiatives for medical staff across Sydney Local Health District. The Director of Physical Wellbeing will contribute high level managerial support and project management expertise to ensure SLHD MDOK strategic objectives are delivered effectively and sustainably, with a particular focus on initiatives that enhance physical activity, recovery, and staff engagement.

Ideal Candidate

Excellent leadership skills and the ability to lead diverse and multidisciplinary teams in achieving strategic and program objectives.
Qualifications in a health or exercise related discipline and/or equivalent work experience: operational experience with medical staff would be beneficial.
A strong commitment to medical staff wellbeing and an extensive working knowledge of wellness programs particularly focused on physical activity.
Experience in establishing an integrative approach to health and wellness for staff within a busy and complex the organisation.
