Exciting opportunity to join a Centre of Excellence in Maintenance Planning & Scheduling at Sydney Water
Salary: Base $124,955.37 + superannuation + shift/leave loading + rostered leave
Contract: 9-month maternity leave cover (potential for extension)
Roster: 24/7 rotating shift, including weekends and public holidays
About the role
We are looking for a proactive and customer-focused Maintenance Scheduler to join our Networks team. In this pivotal role, you’ll be responsible for allocating resources to maintenance crews across Sydney Water’s network, ensuring timely and efficient service delivery that supports our customers, the environment, and operational excellence.
Reporting to the Response Crew Leader, you’ll thrive in a fast-paced environment where your decisions directly influence customer satisfaction and Sydney Water’s reputation.
Key Responsibilities:
Minimise customer impact from daily maintenance activities
Incident Management- manage multiple operational and environmental incidents.
Provide 24/7 response capability for network faults
Collaborate with Customer Experience, Area Planning, Operations, Maintenance, and contractors to deliver seamless service
Coordinate with other utilities and contractors to ensure timely repairs
Manage workflows for field crews to meet priority timeframes
Communicate proactively with customers affected by service interruptions
Deliver timely operational insights using available data sources
Provide accurate updates to customers and the Customer Hub
Handle overnight customer calls and resolve issues effectively
About you
You are a calm and capable problem-solver who thrives under pressure and enjoys working collaboratively. You bring:
1–5 years’ experience in utility network operations or similar
Strong customer service skills and a customer-first mindset
Proven ability to manage complex stakeholder relationships
Excellent teamwork and communication skills
Confidence in influencing field teams to meet service standards
Availability for emergency and incident response, including 24/7 contact ability
Willingness to work a rotating shift roster, including weekends and public holidays
