About the Role
We are looking for a Domestic Sales Executive to lead the growth of our domestic and local sales and marketing activities. This role is essential in securing new sales channels, maintaining key relationships, and ensuring that Te Puia remains a leading name in the tourism sector.
Key Responsibilities:
Identifying, pursuing, and securing new sales channels in the domestic market.
Converting sales enquiries into actual and profitable business.
Maintaining and nurturing existing sales channels.
Planning, scheduling, and executing strategic sales calls and visits within the local and regional market.
Assisting the Marketing team to grow Te Puia's brand awareness, particularly in domestic, education, FIT, and functions markets.
Producing quotes and program itineraries in a timely manner.
Ensuring all client requests are responded to promptly and professionally.
Establishing and managing marketing and promotional projects targeting specific markets.
Contributing to the maintenance of a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system.
Building and enhancing Te Puia networks within local and regional communities.
Representing Te Puia at trade shows, industry networking events, and tourism expos to drive awareness and generate leads.
Minimum Requirements:
Strong knowledge and experience in sales principles and professional communications.
Proven ability to generate new business and foster existing relationships.
A deep appreciation for te reo me ona tikanga Maori, traditions, and customs, with the ability to share these appropriately.
Strong project management and networking skills.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
A solid understanding of business principles and an ability to apply them effectively.
Above-average computer skills, with experience in reservations and sales systems highly advantageous.
A relevant tertiary qualification and experience in tourism sales or a similar field is desirable.
