ROLE OVERVIEW
The E-Commerce Accountant will be responsible for end-to-end accounting, reconciliation, and MIS reporting for clients operating across major Indian and international e-commerce marketplaces (Amazon, Flipkart, Meesho, Myntra, Nykaa, etc.). The role demands proficiency in Tally / TallyPrime and Zoho Books, along with strong Excel and Power Query skills for data handling and reporting.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Accounting & Bookkeeping
• Maintain accurate books of accounts in Tally ERP / TallyPrime and Zoho Books for e-commerce clients.
• Record daily sales, purchase, expense, and bank transactions across multiple platforms and entities.
• Process and reconcile marketplace settlement statements (Amazon, Flipkart, Meesho, Myntra, etc.).
• Manage accounts payable and receivable, vendor payments, and ledger maintenance.
Reconciliation & Controls
• Perform marketplace-wise revenue reconciliation — matching gross sales, returns, commissions, TCS, and net settlements.
• Bank reconciliation and payment gateway reconciliation (Razorpay, PayU, etc.).
• Reconcile TCS (Tax Collected at Source) deducted by marketplaces with books and Form 26AS.
• Inventory reconciliation — coordinate with operations on stock movement, returns, and shrinkage.
Taxation & Compliance
• Assist in monthly GST workings — GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, and reconciliation with GSTR-2B.
• Prepare TDS working and ensure timely deduction and deposit.
• Support in computation of advance tax and annual tax filings.
• Coordinate with GST consultants for e-commerce-specific compliance (Section 9(5), TCS under GST).
MIS & Reporting
• Prepare monthly MIS reports covering P&L, sales performance, channel-wise margins, and expense analysis.
• Build and maintain Excel-based / Power Query dashboards for client review presentations.
• Assist in preparing financial projections, working capital summaries, and cash flow statements.
• Generate platform-wise performance reports to support Virtual CFO review calls.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
• B.Com / M.Com / CA Inter / Semi-Qualified CA with 3–4 years of relevant experience.
• Mandatory hands-on experience in e-commerce accounting — marketplace reconciliation, TCS under GST, and platform settlement accounting.
• Proficient in both Tally (TallyPrime preferred) and Zoho Books — candidates without both will not be shortlisted.
• Strong working knowledge of MS Excel; Power Query or Power BI exposure is a significant advantage.
• Good understanding of GST, TDS, and direct/indirect tax basics in an e-commerce context.
• Prior experience in a CA firm, Virtual CFO setup, or e-commerce company's finance team is preferred.
