Job Description
As an Ecommerce Accountant specializing in Tally, your primary responsibility will be to manage the financial activities of an ecommerce business using Tally software. You will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, reconciling accounts, and providing strategic insights to optimize financial performance. Your expertise in Tally will play a vital role in ensuring efficient and accurate financial management.
Key Responsibilities:
Tally Software Expertise: Utilize Tally software to manage all aspects of financial accounting for the ecommerce business. Demonstrate a strong understanding of Tally's features, functionalities, and modules relevant to ecommerce operations.
Financial Data Entry and Reconciliation: Enter and maintain financial transactions in Tally, ensuring accuracy and completeness. Reconcile bank statements, invoices, and payments to ensure consistency between Tally records and external financial sources.
Financial Reporting: Generate and analyze financial reports using Tally, including income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, and other custom reports as required. Provide insights and recommendations based on the analysis to optimize financial performance.
Inventory Management: Manage inventory-related transactions in Tally, including tracking stock levels, reconciling physical stock counts with Tally records, and generating inventory reports. Collaborate with relevant teams to ensure accurate inventory valuation and reconciliation.
Tax Compliance: Maintain accurate tax records and ensure compliance with applicable tax regulations. Prepare and file tax returns in accordance with legal requirements, leveraging Tally's tax management features.
Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate and improve financial processes and workflows within Tally. Identify opportunities for automation, streamlining of operations, and enhancement of financial controls.
Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance, operations, and management, to gather financial information, provide insights, and support decision-making processes. Communicate financial information effectively, both verbally and in written reports.
Stay Updated: Stay abreast of industry trends, changes in accounting regulations, and updates to Tally software. Proactively seek opportunities to enhance your knowledge and skills related to ecommerce accounting and Tally.
Qualifications and Skills:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Strong expertise in using Tally software for ecommerce accounting.
Solid understanding of ecommerce financial operations, including revenue recognition, expense management, and inventory control.
Proficient in financial analysis, reporting, and data interpretation.
Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and financial record keeping.
Knowledge of tax regulations and compliance requirements for ecommerce businesses.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively within a team.
Prior experience in ecommerce accounting or related roles is preferred.
