Description

The Werklund School of Education, Graduate Programs, at the University of Calgary invites applications for a term certain Sessional Instructor position for Winter 2026 in Educational Psychology and Educational Research.

The term runs from January 12 to April 14, 2026. Visit the Academic Calendar for complete academic dates.

Sessional instructors will teach online and on campus graduate courses that are integral parts of the graduate programs in the Werklund School of Education.

Graduate Programs in Education (GPE) has over 1000 graduate students registered in seven (7) specializations. GPE is proud of the high-quality graduate programs delivered in both online and on campus formats. Its programs are characterized by a strong learner focus, flexibility, technological innovation, and responsiveness to community desire for accreditation, certification, lifelong learning, and rigorous scholarship.

EDER 669.58 Lec 02 What Are My Responsibilities?
Delivery: Online

This course draws teachers into enacting relationality in Indigenous education. Having considered who they are, where they come from, and where they are going, this final course offers an opportunity for teachers to recognize and enact their responsibilities.

Position Requirements

Educational Research consists of Educational Studies in Adult Learning, Curriculum and Learning, Language and Literacy, Leadership, and the Learning Sciences.

Desired qualifications include
• A completed doctorate in education or a related area.
• Evidence of successful teaching and leadership experience in school, university, or workplace settings.
• Demonstrated experience in online/distance education.
• Capacity to work effectively in a collaborative culture.
• Knowledge and understanding of the graduate programs and specializations in Educational Research are considered assets for the sessional teaching positions.
