The Australian Anti-Slavery Commissioner is seeking an Executive Assistant/Office Manager to join his office in Melbourne.
This is an opportunity to join a small team supporting the Anti-Slavery Commissioner in his role combatting modern slavery in Australia and globally.

The role would be to assist the Commissioner and the office in a range of administrative and office management tasks, including:
managing the diary of the Commissioner, including prioritising time, drawing attention to urgent requests and dealing with external stakeholders in organising meetings
monitoring and tracking incoming documents to ensure correspondence is triaged and actioned accordingly, including liaising with office staff to coordinate responses
performing 'front of office' support functions, including meeting room bookings and set up, greeting visitors and receiving and responding to phone calls, emails and general correspondence
booking travel for the Commissioner and office staff
acquitting credit card statements and processing reimbursements within the Department's financial system
liaising with the Department on a range of administrative issues, e.g. office equipment, accommodation, travel and finance reporting.

The successful candidate will need to exercise flexibility, resilience and have a positive attitude. The office environment is a small, non-hierarchical team operating from different workplaces in a variety of states.
The ideal candidate will:
be able to handle multiple tasks and juggle competing priorities
have an attention to detail
be able to communicate clearly and concisely when dealing with others in the office and with external stakeholders
be flexible in taking on new tasks as required within the office
the ability to work independently, have good judgment, common sense and discretion.
The position is based in Melbourne and you would be required to work from an office in the CBD, with some scope for working from home.
The position could be offered as a part-time position (3-4 days a week) if required.
Current APS employees are encouraged to apply, with the potential to s26 transfer into the role.
