Job Description:
We are seeking a dynamic Fashion Design Educator to join our team as an Assistant Professor in Fashion Design. The ideal candidate will contribute to teaching, research, and academic development in alignment with global design standards and industry needs.
This role involves delivering engaging lectures and studio-based courses across undergraduate (and potentially postgraduate) Fashion Design programs. You will also develop curriculum and course materials with a strong emphasis on design thinking, innovation, sustainability, and digital tools. Additionally, you will guide students in design projects, portfolio development, fashion shows, exhibitions, and internships.
The successful candidate will stay updated with fashion trends, materials, and emerging technologies; integrate these into academic delivery. They will also engage in scholarly research, creative practice, or consultancy work leading to publications, exhibitions, or design outputs. Furthermore, they will participate in departmental activities including admissions, industry collaborations, student mentoring, and academic events.

Eligibility Criteria:
We are looking for candidates with a Master's Degree in Fashion Design / Textile Design / Fashion Communication / Fashion Technology from a recognized institution. Preference will be given to candidates with UGC NET qualification or a Ph.D. in the relevant field. We require at least 2-5 years of relevant teaching experience in higher education or equivalent industry experience. Demonstrated ability in academic delivery, curriculum development, and student mentorship is essential.
Desirable Skills:
Proficiency in fashion software such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, CLO 3D, CorelDRAW, or similar CAD tools is desirable. Knowledge of sustainable fashion, smart textiles, or digital fashion will be an added advantage. Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills are required. A strong portfolio of academic or industry work is necessary.
