Position: Film Production Accounting Manager
Hours: Full Time - Mon-Fri, +am-6pm (1 hour lunch) - In Office
Rate Range: $100,000 - $110,000 CAD/ year

OVERVIEW:
To handle the overall management and supervision of the accounting department’s AP & AR functions for a group of related companies producing “live action content” commercials for advertisers located at the center of Toronto’s of highly successful film industry. The Group’s production jobs take place in a variety of cities across Canada, in the US and, from time to time, international locations. The companies employ 18 full time staff, including 2 full time accounting clerks, and a part time Controller. In addition, the companies hire a large number of contract employees for work on its “film shoots”. Being physically present to work 5 days a week in the Group’s downtown Toronto office is essential. It’s a great position for someone that’s excited to have an impact on the success of a high tempo small business.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Full time Accounting Manager responsible for overseeing the accounting department’s completion of all day-to-day accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll duties of Suneeva and its affiliates. Will report to the Controller & President. Will liaise with production teams, internal staff, clients, and vendors to ensure the completion of required accounting tasks.
Full Cycle Accounts Payable Duties include:
-Vendor payments (cutting cheques, processing purchase orders, wire payments, deposits, certified cheques, getting approvals)
-Petty cash (issuing cheques, checking reconciliations, inputting into accounting system)
-Banking (account transfers, currency exchange, bank reconciliations, working with online banking system)
-Credit card reconciliations and payments
-Setting up jobs in Sage 300
-Maintaining spreadsheets for payrolls, expense reports and server costs
-Project job cost analysis
-Responding inquiries from crew and vendors
-Mailing cheques & filing documents
-Financial Reports
Payroll Duties include:
-Payroll (processing timesheets for projects, processing monthly corporate payroll, T4 reporting, using Quickbooks for payroll processing)
-Tax payments (HST, Workers Comp, EHT)
Full Cycle Accounts Receivable include:
-Billing (generating invoices, collecting deal memos, tracking payment schedules for projects)
-Collections (sending invoices, following up with clients for payment, ensuring payments are on time, notifying executives of payment status)
Other duties as assigned by the Controller & Accounting Manager.
WORK RELATED EXPERIENCE:
-5+ years of accounting experience
-Management Experience
-Film production accounting experience an asset
-Analytical, highly organized, detailed oriented, and able to work under pressure
-Strong working knowledge of Sage 300 or similar ERP level double entry accounting software
-Experience with Quickbooks Desktop Pro
-Experience with payroll processing
-Excel is required
-Small business experience an asset
-Background check will be done upon job offer
