Position Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated Finance and Accounts Associate to join our National Team. The successful candidate will work closely with the Accounts and Finance Head and will be responsible for a variety of financial and administrative duties. This role involves handling financial management tasks, including accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, transaction verification, and maintaining compliance with government reporting requirements. The individual will also provide administrative support, including file management, correspondence drafting, and asset management across our head and state offices.
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage all accounting operations, including Accounts Payable, General Ledger management, and Income Recognition.
• Can manage the FCRA related things of the organization.
• Coordinate budget preparation, financial forecasts, and variance reporting; prepare and publish monthly financial statements.
• Verify reimbursements from state teams and ensure accurate record-keeping of expenses.
• Provide orientation and ongoing support to new recruits and team members regarding expense-related queries.
• Obtain approvals on expenses after initial verification from relevant team leads/CXOs.
• Ensure quality control over financial transactions and reporting.
• Manage and comply with government reporting requirements and tax filings.
• Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to strengthen internal controls.
• Ensure invoices are received for correct amounts monthly.
• Maintain minutes of Board meetings and follow up with partners for due diligence procedures.
• Support the Finance Head during internal and external audits and ensure compliance records are processed per agreed procedures.
• Maintain and update program documents for all states and handle queries from teams and vendors.
• Calculate, prepare, and issue documents related to accounts, such as bills, invoices, inventory reports, and financial statements.
• Ensure procurement processes comply with Aangan Trust and donor regulations.
• Maintain trackers and assist the Finance Head in preparing reports for submission to government authorities.
Competencies & Capabilities:
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Attention to detail and the ability to manage diverse activities while meeting deadlines.
• High level of computer literacy and proficiency in MS Office, especially MS Excel.
• Excellent communication skills in English and Hindi.
• Knowledge of Tally Prime.
Qualifications & Experience:
• Master’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a CA qualification.
• 2 to 3 years of relevant work experience in the development sector.
