Minara Resources has an opportunity for an experienced Finance Superintendent to join our established and dedicated team.
Minara Resources is Australia’s largest cobalt producer and a major world producer of nickel. Our Murrin Murrin site in WA’s northern Goldfields is an integrated nickel and cobalt mining and processing operation employing over 1,000 people. The Role
The successful person will become a member of a hardworking and committed team to lead and manage the financial activities and processes within the Murrin Murrin operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis.
You will be responsible for:
Ensuring timely and accurate preparation of financial information, including group reporting, monthly management reports, and financial statements (P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow).
Assisting with the budgeting and forecasting process for MMO, including involvement in the Life of Asset (LoA) planning process.
Conducting in-depth financial analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities within the operation.
Ensuring compliance with all financial regulations, accounting standards, and internal control policies.
Collaborating with senior management to develop and support long-term financial strategies and goals.
Driving cost control measures and contributing to operational efficiency improvements.
Effectively communicating financial results, analysis, and insights to stakeholders including management, and external auditors.
Leading, mentoring, and developing a high-performing finance team.
Actively supporting MMO's transformational initiatives, including process reengineering, cost optimisation, and technology integration.
Working collaboratively with cross-functional teams to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of MMO's management operating systems.
About You
This role would suit a someone who has significant experience in finance or accounting including financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting within the resources industry.
You will also have:
A degree in finance, accounting, or a related discipline
Relevant professional certifications: Public Accountant (CPA), Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), Certified Management Accountant (CMA), or Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA)
Proven experience in a site-based finance leadership role, ideally within the mining or resources sector.
A profound knowledge of financial analysis techniques to interpret financial data and provide insights for strategic decision-making
In-depth understanding of relevant financial regulations and accounting standards to ensure adherence to legal and industry standards
Understanding of the industry and market trends that may impact financial performance
