About the role:
We’re on the hunt for an experienced Financial Accountant to join our team.
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Financial Accountant to support our finance team in Australia. This role combines transactional finance duties with broader responsibilities in management reporting, offering the candidate to play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records and adding value through effective management reporting. This role is a 10 month fixed term role, with the option to extend/view to permanent.
Key Responsibilities:
The role is responsible for ensuring accurate processing of financial transactions and journals, budgeting and forecasting, various compliance obligations are met and the provision of insights to stakeholders to support decision making.
Ensuring accuracy of financial transactions
Preparation on month end adjustments
A/P Support
A/R Processing
Fixed Assets
Intercompany account management
Monthly Management reports and annual financial statements
Support year end
Provide reports as required
FBT, GST, Income Tax and Stamp Duty Lodgements
Technical accounting problem solving
About you:
You have a passion for data, Microsoft Excel and PowerBI for reporting and business insight with a proven track record in demonstrating initiative, and a strong sense of accountability while supporting senior leaders in the business.
Business (Accounting) or Commerce degree
CPA or CA qualified
5 years plus experience in an accounting role with an understanding of processes and controls
Established skills in using Xero. Skills in using NetSuite an advantage
Excellent IT skills and ability to learn new systems
Exceptional communication and problem-solving skills
Well-developed knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
Experience creating reports and dashboards
Experience in financial services or insurance an advantage
