Department Overview
Enterprise Finance drives financial management for the company, maintains, and enhances risk and financial controls. Key functions within Enterprise Finance include finance and accounting; Treasury; corporate development, mergers, and acquisitions; Data Management and Insights, the Customer Remediation Center of Excellence, Enterprise Shared Services, Business Process Management, and Corporate Strategy. Enterprise Finance informs shareholders, regulators, taxing authorities, team members, and leaders of the company's financial performance through earnings releases, investor meetings and conferences, and meetings with regulators and credit rating agencies, following appropriate reporting guidelines. The Enterprise Finance function contains the Corporate Controllers division, which includes the Enterprise Controls & Oversight (ECO) group. The Controller's Division is responsible for the accuracy of the Company's financial statements, establishing corporate accounting policies, preparing SEC and regulatory reports and ensuring the adequacy of internal controls.
About this role
Wells Fargo is seeking a Financial Accountant to join the Capital Markets Accounting Operations (CMAO) - External Debt team. This position is specifically responsible for providing accounting expertise, monitoring, problem solving and maintenance of Wells Fargo issued debt products.
Key responsibilities:
• Build or review external debt instruments and trades within the WallStreet and SimCorp systems of record
• Perform daily system monitoring for exceptions or outages that require resolution
• Complete or review various accounting reconciliations for any outages requiring correction
• Ensure compliance with all policies and procedures regarding the distribution and monitoring of intercompany funding
• Partner with multiple business lines throughout the firm to ensure appropriate accounting treatment and reporting of debt products
• Perform multiple work functions in a fast-paced environment and assist with a variety of projects and initiatives in support of corporate goals and initiatives.
Required qualifications:
• 5 years of experience in finance and accounting
• Bachelors/MBA in Finance, Accounting, or Business

• Securities industry experience
• Strong analytical skills with ability to turn findings into executable plans to meet business objectives
• Ability to read and interpret legal documents
