Your new company Your new company is a global manufacturing / engineering business based in Preston. Due to continued growth, they are looking for a Financial Accountant to join the team on a permanent basis. Your new role Assist in the preparation of the UK GAAP Statutory Financial Statements including the main trading companies, along with Roll forwards of the non-trading dormant companies. Knowledge of the conversion of management accounts from US GAAP to FRS 102 would be advantageous. Continual Development of processes and compliance to ensure alignment with SOX principles. Month End Management Reporting –Assist with UK Company accounting, overseas entity reporting, liaising with the bookkeeper in each country, accrual journals for recharges and foreign exchange etc., Ensure inter companies balance, and all Management Accounts information is loaded into the Group Consolidation system. Inter company monthly reconciliations. Supplementary Audit Packs - Analysis of the data required to complete the footnotes for the Consolidated Financial Statements. Which includes analysis of capitalised software, Intangibles and Operating / Capital leases. Facilitating the co-ordination of all entities. Assist/cover with the monthly payroll process. Assistance as necessary in collation of the annual budget, including operating expenses, depreciation and capital spend. Assist with the monthly administrative support, control and analysis for expenditure of legal, pensions, R&D and other professional fees. Along with monitoring against budget. Other Ad hoc duties include - UK Tax Computation analysis & support.- Year-end Sage rollover for UK and overseas.- Review of small foreign entities Statutory accounts.- National Statistics returns.- VAT- cover for the preparation of the monthly VAT return including ensuring controls over VAT on pensions, restricted VAT, Duty.- Other day to day analysis as prescribed by the Director of Finance. What you'll need to succeed CIMA/ACCA/ACA/QBE accountant
Previous experience in a similar role including international exposure in commensurate with accounting and reporting in various foreign currencies. Handling currency transnationals and foreign bookkeeping. International exposure would be beneficial. Knowledge of US GAAP. Strong Excel skills. Proficiency in ERP systems specifically SAP also, implementation would be useful. Experience within a manufacturing environment would be advantageous. What you'll get in return
