Job Description
Boody is looking for a new Financial Accountant to join our Finance team on a 6 month Fixed Term Contract!
At Boody, the Financial Accountant plays a critical role in ensuring the accuracy, compliance, and strategic financial management of Boody’s operations in North America and the UK. This position is responsible for overseeing financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting while ensuring the integrity of the company's financial data. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of financial processes, and experience managing compliance and external financial relationships.
What is this role all about?
Prepare financial reports, budgets, and forecasts for North America and the UK.
Maintain ownership of the North America and UK Profit & Loss (P&L) and Balance Sheet.
Analyse month-end financial performance and provide insights based on historical and forward-looking data.
Oversee cash flow and treasury management.
Conduct contribution margin reporting and analysis.
Ensure compliance with tax, transfer pricing, and audit requirements; act as the primary liaison with external auditors.
Manage and coordinate one external bookkeepers.
Supervise and oversee accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), invoicing, and reconciliations.
Maintain and develop strong relationships with external financial partners.
Oversee inventory management processes to ensure accuracy, proper valuation, and internal controls.
Identify commercial insights and opportunities, particularly around margin and expenditure.
Serve as the finance systems lead, ensuring efficient processes and system integrations.
We're looking for:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
CPA, CA, or equivalent professional qualification preferred.
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in financial accounting or a related role.
Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
Experience with compliance, tax regulations, and audit processes.
Proficiency in accounting software and financial systems (e.g., ERP systems, Xero, NetSuite).
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Experience working with international financial operations is a plus.
