What we are looking for:

We are looking to hire an experienced Financial Accountant for a permanent full time position. The primary role of the Financial Accountant will be to ensure that the financial information of MONEYME is complete and accurate. This is achieved through timely execution of financial accounting and reporting activities, implementing strong controls, and undertaking regular analytical reviews. The role will collaborate with senior Finance leaders to achieve month end and transactional accounting targets and also function to support recurring operational tasks. You will work closely with all departments within the business and must be comfortable in building strong relationships with external stakeholders.

You will need to have had at least 4-5 years of relevant accounting experience. This position is a full-time role and will be located in our Sydney CBD office.

Please note we will require the candidate to hold an ACCA/CA/CPA/CIMA or equivalent accounting qualification.

Responsibilities for this position include:

Month-End close, including journal posting and review
Oversight of balance sheet reconciliations and investigation of any accounting or transactional anomalies
Half & Full Year-End Close, including draft financial report completion and audit support
Maintenance and completion of robust and timely reconciliations
Maintenance and developments to ensure a robust audit trail and financial control environment
Liaison with external auditors to meet their audit requirements
Completion of standard tax compliance related returns such as BAS and annual income tax returns
To be successful in this role you must have the following:

Previous knowledge and experience in month end processes and accounting adjustments, including accruals and prepayments
Analytical skills and the ability to identify and understand variances and trends
A sound understanding of tax compliance requirements, from Income Tax to GST to FBT
A robust understanding of accounting standards and experience completing Financial Reports
Experience managing external audit processes
Knowledge and experience with the local financial services regulatory environment such as APRA and ASIC requirements
Experience in working with large volumes of data to interrogate and manipulate information to deliver insights
