Your new role
As the Financial Controller at NAR, you’ll be responsible for managing day-to-day transactional finance operations across the group, overseeing internal financial reporting, and ensuring compliance with all statutory and internal requirements. You’ll lead, mentor and develop a high-performing finance team, be a true business partner to key stakeholders to drive business planning, cashflow forecasting, and P&L integrity. From managing month-end to supporting audits and championing financial systems improvements, you’ll play a critical role in the success and growth of the business.
Day-to-day you’ll be:
Leading, mentoring and developing the transactional finance team, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement
Managing month-end close, variance analysis, cashflow forecasting and preparation of board packs
Overseeing AR, AP, bank reconciliations and payroll, ensuring compliance with all statutory requirements
Maintaining the integrity of financial data within the ERP system (Apparel21) and updating customer, supplier and product records
Reviewing and lodging BAS, maintaining insurance compliance and supporting debtor insurance risk management
Supporting the Finance Director with external audits, preparing audit schedules, and addressing audit queries
Partnering with key stakeholders across the group to support P&L understanding and business goal setting
Producing and updating internal accounting papers in line with IAS/AASB standards, ensuring team compliance
Identifying and driving adoption of innovative financial practices and technology to improve reporting, analysis and efficiency
Keeping the Finance Director informed with regular updates on AR, AP, cashflow and any material risks
You’ll thrive in this role if you are:
CPA or CA qualified, with 3-5 years in a similar Financial Controller or Senior Finance role
Strong in technical accounting, with excellent knowledge of reporting standards and regulations
Skilled in analysis, with the ability to work confidently across new systems and large data sets
Advanced in MS Excel and comfortable navigating accounting software (Apparel21 experience highly regarded)
A proactive leader who loves mentoring teams, improving processes, and driving innovation
A confident communicator who enjoys building relationships across all levels of the business
