Designation: Finance Controller/Finance Manager
Location: Mumbai

The company is a category creator and a category leader in its industry with over 100,000K customers in 50+ countries. It runs the number 1 parenting app (Prodigy Baby) on the Playstore and has a deeply passionate and talented team of 35+ people. It was recently featured on Shark Tank India, and has subsequently bagged a round of venture capital from some of India’s top investors.

Responsibilities:
Financial Planning and Analysis: Develop and manage financial planning processes, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling. Provide analysis and insights on financial performance, variances, and trends to support strategic decision-making by senior management.
Financial Reporting and Compliance: Oversee the preparation of financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards (e.g., GAAP) and regulatory requirements.
Internal Controls and Risk Management: Establish and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard assets, mitigate financial risks, and ensure compliance with financial regulations, laws, and policies. Conduct periodic audits and reviews to identify and address control weaknesses or non-compliance issues.
Financial Operations Management: Manage day-to-day financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and treasury functions. Ensure accurate recording of financial transactions, timely payments, and efficient cash flow management.
Team Management and Development: Lead and develop a finance team, providing guidance, coaching, and performance management. Foster a culture of continuous learning, skill development, and collaboration within the finance department.
Required skills and qualifications
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex financial data and provide actionable insights
Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems; advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
Excellent understanding of internal controls, compliance, and risk management
Strong understanding of banking processes and financial data analysis
Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a finance team
Effective communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders
Attention to detail, accuracy, and the ability to meet tight deadlines
Preferred skills and qualifications
Professional certification, such as CA or CPA certification
Proven experience as a Finance Manager or similar role in a complex financial environment
In-depth knowledge of financial management, accounting principles, and financial reporting standards (e.g., GAAP)
Ten or more years of experience in finance or accounting roles.
Five or more years of experience as a senior-level accounting or finance manager
