Role & Responsibilities
Financial Management, Accounting and Reporting
Managing the financial operations of the Company, ensuring accuracy, compliance and efficiency in all financial processes.
Develop and maintain financial policies, procedures and internal controls.
Assist in cash management and forecasting
Reviewing all month-end close activities, preparing and providing the required reports.
Prepare and review financial statements and other financial reports monthly, quarterly and annually.
Conduct financial analysis and present findings to the management team for strategic decision-making.
Ensure timely and accurate month-end and year-end closing processes.
Grant application and reporting.
Support HR with new employee on boarding and general HR related tasks.
Oversee payroll processing and ensure accurate and timely payment to employees.
Manage the design and implementation of new accounting processes within a growing business.
Support of Proposal pricing and analysis. Understanding of the company economics to bid on jobs with the appropriate pricing.
Collaborate on annual operating and capital budgets, and monitor budget performance, identify variances and recommend corrective actions as needed.
Coordinate external audits/reviews, providing the necessary documentation and explanations.
Coordinate year end tax and SR&ED filings and support advisors in tax strategy.
Evaluate, implement and maintain financial/ERP software systems. Lead/assist in the accounting system conversion.

Thorough understanding of accounting principles, tax regulations and financial reporting standards, and ability to learn new accounting software
Requirements
CPA designation is highly desirable.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance, or a related field
Canadian citizen or a permanent resident with a clean criminal record, as such, can apply for Canadian Secret Security clearance
Previous UAV and/or Aviation experience an asset
Industry experience in either Defense or Oil and Gas an asset
