Hall Chadwick is one of Australia’s leading mid-tier chartered accounting firms providing professional services in the areas of Insolvency, Audit, Business Services Advisory, Tax and Forensic Accounting.
Hall Chadwick Brisbane are looking for a Forensic Accountant who will be working in a small (but growing) team engaged in a range of valuation and forensic accounting assignments. This role will be working with peers as well as directly with the partner-in-charge. You will contribute to the design, implementation and execution of the valuation and forensic assignments, including analysis of the information provided, undertaking investigations and discovery projects, financial modelling and the documenting of our findings into a report compliant with the relevant Court guidelines. You will have the ability to demonstrate initiative and sound judgement to ensure the smooth running of the assignments in line with the time and budgetary requirements.
Responsibilities
Our valuation and forensic accounting assignments include:
Valuations for the purpose of dispute matters including:
Contractual fallouts, shareholder disputes and oppression, family law settlements and compulsory acquisitions
Quantification of damages and consequential loss for matters relating to:
Institutional abuse, insurance litigation and personal injury, commercial litigation, workplace disputes, class actions
Fraud investigations and reporting, as well as fraud risk assessments
Complex financial modelling
Investigations, account reviews and discovery projects on an ad-hoc basis for the in-house Insolvency division
Expert testimony and consultation for the purposes of court proceedings.
Qualifications
To be successful in this position, the ideal candidate must have the following:
Relevant bachelor degree and be a CA / CPA or working towards being recognised as a CA / CPA
At least 3 years of experience working in public practice, ideally with a background in valuations, forensic accounting or audit
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Good excel / financial modelling skills
An ability to work autonomously, demonstrating excellent organisational skills
An attention to detail, combined with analytical capabilities
Genuine passion and desire to build a successful career in valuations and forensic accounting.
