Hornbill Capital Advisers LLP (Hornbill Capital) was founded in 2014. Hornbill Capital (https://hornbillcap.com/) is an investment management firm managing a predominantly long only public markets equity fund and it is also in the process of starting a private equity fund.
Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role as a Fund Accountant at Hornbill Capital located in Mumbai. As a Fund Accountant, you will be responsible for managing the accounting and finance operations of investment funds including all investor activities relating to capital calls and distributions following international best practices. This includes maintaining accurate financial records, preparing reports, reconciling accounts, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and tax requirements. All the activities (daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, annual) will be required to be completed within the defined time. Strong oversight on the activities of the service providers will be required with regular MIS reporting. You will also collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to support fund activities and provide financial insights.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Chartered Accountant will be an added advantage
• 2+ years of proven experience working as a Fund Accountant or in a similar role
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices
• Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Excel
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Knowledge of investment funds and regulations
