Role Description:
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a fast-paced scale-up Technology business. This role will be pivotal in helping Synamedia build an Accounting function in Chennai which will help enable it to achieve its global ambitions.
You may have worked for a growing company and experienced an exciting growth journey or you may have worked for a larger company but had a similarly exciting journey in one of their business units.
We are looking for someone to be the lead for all Global general ledger accounting matters in Chennai for Synamedia, liaising with internal and external stakeholders to ensure compliance with internal and external reporting obligations and to positively impact business performance.
We are looking for a General Ledger Accounting Manager with a growth mindset, committed to making the business better. You will take initiative, produce results and collaborate effectively with a talented team.
You will develop key senior stakeholder relationships and provide insightful and timely reporting and challenge. You will know what good looks like and be an advocate for change.
Responsibilities:
• You will own Global general ledger accounting operations, managed from our COE in Chennai.
• You will quickly gain an understanding of current accounting practices and SOPs then work to improve processes working practices.
• You will deliver timely and accurate accounting services to the business.
• You will develop, mentor and coach a talented team, providing them with clear roles and responsibilities.
• You will manage and co-ordinate the process of closing the monthly general ledger for substantially all Group companies.
• You will review account reconciliations for key balance sheet accounts each month end.
• You will manage internal controls and policies to ensure conformance and compliance with generally-accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and other statutory requirements.
• You will maintain the appropriate internal control environments of the company and update the controls documentation as systems or processes are modified.
• Demonstrable experience managing lease accounting, fixed assets, cash, accruals and payment amortization
• Good knowledge on process documentation and creating standard operating procedures for a team to follow.
• Manages the annual audit activities and communicates well with external auditors.
• Coordinates the detailed analysis
