The role will be part of the GAO Leadership team and reports to the Head of GAO. The importance of this role is evident from the fact the incumbent will have to leverage their strong accounting acumen for driving seamless delivery of a wide range of processes, build and sustain functional capabilities, connect the dots across functions and the various ongoing change initiatives and importantly strengthen the controls on a business as usual basis. GAO is driving transformation across its processes and an important aspect of the role is to lead, drive and manage the change while challenging the status quo in partnership with the stakeholders.
Our people being the core of our business, driving up the engagement levels would also be an essential imperative. The roles requires leveraging the strong partnership that currently exists across Finance to communicate, escalate and update on a timely basis. This role will be a key partner to the Head of Global Accounting Operations as we develop the target state operating model and best in class processes for the future of accounting.
The accountability of the role will encompass the overall Global Process Ownership for Expense Accounting and bespoke processes pertaining to Global Advisor's accounting operations. The span will cover teams that are primarily in GFC - Bangalore. Accountability will also include working closely with the teams in our Joint Venture (JV) to ensure high quality service delivery of the outsourced processes.
What you will be responsible for
Ownership of timeliness and quality of output with extended oversight of the JV processes and act as an escalation point for JV
Maintain a robust controls environment, complete and accurate inventory of processes, timely flagging, tracking and remediation of process, identify and remediate inconsistent design of controls within the same tower; monitoring of controls effectiveness
Meet SLA requirements and achieve performance metrics consistently
Help drive reduction of manual touch points and build efficient straight through processes
Develop process metrics and data quality and performance dashboards, reports and metrics

Partnering on large scale global enterprise programs and system implementation and/or experience in driving complex, firm wide projects across multiple stakeholders
Proven leadership skills in managing large teams, developing and maturing the team skill-set and motivating teams through challenging environments
Education & Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor/Master Degree in Finance or MBA. CA, CIMA preferred
Knowledge of accounting principles, Accounting Operations, Controllers, Business Controls, Finance & Risk Assurance with exposure to US GAAP and IFRS standards
15 - 20 years of progressive experience in Accounting Operations, Controllers, Business Controls, Finance & Risk Assurance
