Operating across multiple specialist divisions, the business delivers integrated, project‑based solutions to industrial and commercial clients across Australia. With increasing operational complexity and ERP implementation underway, this appointment will play a central role in establishing the financial rigour, transparency and performance insight required to underpin continued scale.
The Role
Reporting to the General Manager and working closely with the leadership team, this is a senior, hands‑on finance leadership role with broad operational accountability.
The immediate mandate is clear: embed structure, reliability and financial discipline across a multi‑entity, project‑based environment. Success will be defined by enhancing confidence in the numbers, establishing a dependable month‑end process, ensuring balance sheet integrity, and delivering accurate, decision‑ready reporting across all entities.
Key responsibilities include:
Leading end‑to‑end financial control, compliance and reporting across multiple entities.
Embedding a disciplined and repeatable month‑end close process with full balance sheet oversight.
Ensuring all statutory and regulatory obligations are delivered accurately and on time.
Driving robust cashflow forecasting, working capital management and financial risk oversight.
Overseeing WIP, project margin reporting and contract performance analysis.
Leading budgeting, forecasting and financial planning processes aligned to operational realities.
Taking ownership of ERP implementation and finance systems optimisation to improve data integrity and reporting reliability.
Building capability, accountability and clarity within the finance function.
Beyond establishing strong financial foundations, the role will act as a trusted commercial partner to the General Manager and operational leaders — providing margin insight, scenario analysis and financial guidance to support disciplined growth, informed contract decisions and improved project performance.
As the organisation continues to scale, there is meaningful scope for the role to broaden — shaping finance structure, enhancing reporting maturity and increasing influence at leadership level.
About You
CA qualified (CPA considered) with strong technical accounting foundations.
Proven experience as a Head of Finance, Financial Controller or senior finance leader within a growing SME or mid‑market, multi‑entity environment.
Demonstrated success strengthening financial controls, reporting accuracy and process discipline during periods of growth or change.
Strong commercial acumen within project‑based, services or operationally complex businesses.
Experience managing cashflow in dynamic, growth‑oriented environments.
Exposure to ERP or major systems implementation.
You are a disciplined, structured and detail‑oriented finance leader who takes clear ownership of outcomes, combines financial rigour with commercial judgement, engages operational leaders in practical performance‑focused dialogue, and is motivated by building capability and driving meaningful impact within a growing business.
