Maintain general accounting systems, policies, and procedures to ensure that proper information is reported in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.As a member of the finance division, you will assist in accounting functions which may include general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, and inter-company transactions. Maintain the general ledger to include the preparation of journal entries, analysis, reconciliation and reporting. Maintain and implement general accounting systems. Conduct account reconciliation periodically, ledger close activities, and provide accurate financial data to support management in decision making. Develop and prepare financial reports including profit and loss, income and balance sheet statements. Review and analyze inter-company transactions. Ensure all journal entries comply with internal and external audit specifications. Participate in the ongoing development and maintenance of internal procedures and processes. May participate in special projects.Duties and tasks are standard with some variation. Completes own role largely independently within defined policies and procedures. Strong analytical, prioritization and communication skills in partnering with other internal groups and management. Familiarity with Excel spreadsheets is essential. Familiarity with Oracle Financials is preferable.This is a requirement for the Global Hardware Controllers group that is part of Global Controllers Organization. The group (a) oversees the management of the Global Inventory and Inventory Reserves balance and accounting for the inventory and related reserves/ liabilities, (b) maintains the Standard Cost Model, (c) purchase price variance and inventory revaluation analysis (d) ensure compliance with inventory policy and (e) perform reconciliation for balance sheet accounts related to hardware.Candidate Profile: B.Com., with CA / CMA qualification having min 5 to 6 years of experience in general accounting Previous experience in a controller's group/ hard core accounting would be an added advantage. Good in MS Office (Excel, Word & Power point) Exposure to ERP environment is desirable Should have good analytical, reasoning and problem solving skillsResponsibilities: Preparation of journal entries during month / quarter close based on review of account balances. Assist in preparation of quarter end reports including other assigned activities during quarter close. Prepare Balance Sheet Reconciliations for assigned hardware accounts on time and resolve all open items in the reconciliations to reflect accurate numbers in financial statements. Interact with Feeder processes / Controllers for resolving queries / open items in reconciliations. Audit support - Support the US GAAP, Statutory Audit, SOX and Internal Audits relating to hardware accounting area. Prepare dashboard / metrics pack for management review.
