JOB SUMMARY
This is a maternity leave coverage. Reporting to the HR Manager, the HR Coordinator will play a key support role in the administration and coordination of various human resources functions and supporting the HR Manager during the Director of HR’s absence. This role is vital to maintaining the continuity and quality of HR services across recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, HRIS maintenance, and compliance activities.
The HR Coordinator will be responsible for executing daily administrative duties, supporting department initiatives, and serving as a liaison between employees, management, and the HR team.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
18 years of age or older
Cover letter and updated resume
2–3 years of experience in Human Resources generalist or specialist role.
Knowledge of Human Resource practices, Labour laws, and Employment Standards of Manitoba.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
Able to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Valid driver’s license with access to a reliable vehicle.
Clear Criminal Record, Vulnerable Sector, Adult Abuse, and Child Abuse Registry Checks.
Three employment references.
QUALITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS
High School diploma or GED required
Diploma or certificate in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
Strong negotiation, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
Ability to interact respectfully and effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization, demonstrating a commitment to equity, inclusion, and dignity for all.
Excellent time management skills with strong attention to details.
Excellent organizational, multi-tasking, and troubleshooting skills
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Effective verbal and written communication, decision making, and professionalism.
Ability to take initiative and to work independently as well as in a team environment.
Demonstrated confidentiality, discretion, and professionalism when handling sensitive information.
Culturally aware and emotionally intelligent, with the ability to navigate complex interpersonal dynamics.
SUMMARY OF JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIRES
Support the HR Manager in coordinating employee relations matters and facilitating meetings.
Support with staff transfers, promotions and internal change request.
Assist the HR Manager in coordinating recruitment and onboarding activities, including scheduling interviews, employment notification, and monitoring our Recruitment platform.
Support the management of HRIS and employee files, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality of records.
Facilitate new hire orientation sessions and assist in creating onboarding materials.
Support the preparation of monthly recruitment and HR reports and KPIs.
Support the updating of the employee relations tracker report.
Assist with updating job descriptions, make policies and procedures recommendations as directed by the HR Manager.
Respond to employee inquiries regarding HR matters, policies, programs, and procedures.
Support the gradual return of staff from LOA or sourcing for suitable location where appropriate.
Provide administrative support during performance management processes and meetings.
Ensure compliance with employment legislation and organizational practices.
Collaborate with other departments on HR-related matters, as needed.
Stay informed on labour and immigration policies by regularly researching updates from Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).
Other duties as assigned.
