Propelld is a new age lending startup focusing in the education market doing an annual INR 700cr disbursal, backed by WestBridge Capital (largest in Financial Services space - backers of Axis, HDFC, CIBIL, AU small finance bank, Sharechat, Mamaearth, etc), looking to grow 20x times in the next 3 years to an eventual IPO. Propelld is set to become one of the largest FinTechs in India over the next 3-4 yrs and hence growth and opportunities will be limitless at this role
Designation: - Junior Accountant
Base location: - Bangalore
Experience: -1-2years
Budget :- 3 lpa to 4lpa
Job Summary: As a Junior Accountant, you will support the finance and accounting team in various financial tasks and ensure the accurate and timely recording of financial transactions. You will work under the guidance of senior accountants and assist in maintaining financial records, reconciling accounts, and preparing reports.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Recordkeeping:
• Assist in maintaining and updating financial records, including accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• Record financial transactions in the general ledger and ensure accuracy.
Reconciliation:
• Perform bank reconciliations to verify the accuracy of transactions.
• Reconcile accounts, such as accounts payable and accounts receivable, to ensure they align with company records.
Invoicing and Billing:
• Prepare invoices and billing statements for clients or customers.
• Monitor accounts for overdue payments and follow up with clients for collections.
Financial Reporting:
• Assist in the preparation of financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
• Generate financial reports for management review.
Expense Tracking:
• Track and categorize company expenses.
• Assist in preparing expense reports for reimbursement.
Compliance:
• Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting principles.
• Assist in preparing documentation for audits.
Software and Tools:
• Utilize accounting software and tools to input and manage financial data.
• Maintain proficiency in relevant accounting software.
Communication:
• Collaborate with colleagues and communicate financial information effectively.
• Respond to inquiries from team members and external stakeholders.
• Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial concepts.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, or similar).
• Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and financial reporting.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Basic knowledge of tax regulations and financial regulations (may vary by region).
• Previous internship or entry-level accounting experience is a plus.
