Job Title: Junior Accountant
Department: Finance/Accounting
Location: Masjid Bunder (Walk able distance from station)
Salary To: 12,000 to 17,000
Job Summary:The Junior Accountant plays a crucial role in assisting the finance department with various accounting and financial tasks. This entry-level position is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing reports, reconciling accounts, and providing support to senior accounting staff as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
Data Entry: Accurately record financial transactions in the Tally Prime system, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.
Reconciliation: Assist in reconciling bank statements, vendor statements, and customer accounts to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
Accounts Payable: Process invoices, verify expense reports, and prepare payments to vendors while adhering to payment terms and policies.
Accounts Receivable: Prepare and send invoices to customers, monitor outstanding receivables, and follow up on overdue payments.
Financial Reporting: Assist in the preparation of financial statements, reports, and schedules to support month-end and year-end closing processes.
Expense Tracking: Monitor and track company expenses, ensuring compliance with internal policies and budgets.
Documentation: Maintain organized and accurate financial records, both electronic and physical, for auditing and reference purposes.
Assist with Audits: Support internal and external audit processes by providing documentation and explanations as required.
Compliance: Stay up-to-date with accounting regulations and internal policies, ensuring compliance in all financial activities.
Ad hoc Tasks: Assist senior accountants and finance managers with special projects and other duties as needed.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent education/experience).
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record-keeping.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software like Tally Prime.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work well in a team and collaborate effectively with colleagues.
• Basic understanding of accounting principles and practices.
