Graduate Assistant Accountant

The Junior Assistant Accountant position is responsible for ensuring the integrity and accuracy of accounting data for terminals and its timely flow for input to the centralised accounting system. The position will provide support and backup to the Accounting Supervisor and Accountants.

Key Accountabilities

Provide management with relevant information and reports as required including variance analysis.
Prepare and process employee expense journals
Prepare month end journals (prepayment, accruals, payroll, banking, employee provisions and recharges)
Reconciliation of Inventory to general ledger.
Assist Accounts Payable team with invoice codings and provide assistance with recharges and journals.
Assist with half year and year end schedules (For half year and year end statutory accounts).
Assist with the preparation of annual budget and quarterly reforecasts.
Update and maintain fixed asset register
Qualifications, Skills and Experience

Accounting degree or Professional accounting qualifications (CPA, CA) required.
Experience in industry preferable but not required.
Experience with computerised accounting systems.
Sound knowledge of business / accounting & information systems.
Highly computer literate (Must have intermediate to advance excel skills & experience with accounting systems)
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
