Mō te Tūranga | About the Role
As a Junior UX Designer working alongside our digital teams you will design projects. From ideation through to delivery, you will have the opportunity to contribute to how our customers and our people will interface with technology, helping set the vision for experience at ASB.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate closely with multi-functional teams to gather insights and user requirements, then turn those insights into usable and intuitive user experiences and interfaces.
Combine UX thinking and experience principles with design execution to deliver simple and easy customer solutions.
Create production ready design components and high-quality design outputs.
Present your work in an engaging way, whether informal squad input, a practice showcase or formal presentations to seniors.
Based at ASB's beautiful building in Wynyard Quarter, you will be working with and learning from some of the top UX talent in Aotearoa.
Ō pūkenga | About You
You will be a self-starter with excellent problem-solving skills where your positivity and excellent communication skills enable you to share knowledge and learn from others while contributing to key outcomes.
You will have 2+ years of professional experience working as a UX or Product designer in a design team. You will have proven experience 'on the tools' and able to design to global best practices. You will be familiar with design tools such as Figma, and experienced with Design Systems, Copy Guidelines and Inclusive Design.

Curiosity and creativity, passion for detail with a desire to simplify complexity. You want to make the world a safer, more enjoyable place for everyone.
Working experience of the full UX toolkit, running workshops, UX research, design and testing techniques.
Experience working in Agile project and squad environments, spanning web, mobile and custom applications.
Ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks and stakeholders at the same time.
Excellent communication and facilitation skills and a strong desire to share knowledge and support others.
