Take on a pivotal role where your expertise will drive investment governance and performance in Aotearoa.
Collaborate directly with the KGC Board and other key stakeholders, influencing outcomes at the highest level.
12-month fixed term role based in Wellington (preferred) or Auckland
What the role is
As the KGC Operations Manager you will play a pivotal role in the trusted oversight and strategic success of KGC and its subsidiaries, Kiwibank and NZHL. In this critical position, you’ll apply your expertise in governance, compliance, stakeholder and financial management to ensure KGC thrives as an investment holding company, fulfilling its obligations and supporting the growth of its subsidiaries.
You’ll work directly with the KGC Board, lead key operational initiatives, and build strong relationships with KGC’s subsidiaries, investors regulators, and government stakeholders, reinforcing KGC’s reputation across the financial landscape.
A major focus of your role will be supporting the next phase of a capital raise of up to $500m for Kiwibank, recently approved by Cabinet, with a target completion date of 30 June 2026. This initiative is a key enabler of Kiwibank’s growth, helping them challenge the status quo in banking and continue delivering on their purpose of Kiwi making Kiwi better off.

Demonstrated ability to operate effectively within complex legal and reporting environments
Strong stakeholder engagement skills with confidence in interacting with senior stakeholders
Proven ability to interpret and communicate financial data and insights to a range of audiences
Experience navigating matrix structures and ambiguity with a proactive, solutions-focused approach
Collaborative team player experienced in working across multiple functions and reporting lines
Clear and professional communicator capable of building trust and transparency in relationships
