Essential Functions
• Manages and leads Alchemee accounting trade support finance team which includes general ledger, revenue, gross to net sales deductions, trade promotions, accounts receivable, customer deduction management, inventory, purchasing, cost of goods sold, royalties, cost analysis, transfer pricing and all related internal controls.
• Assist with data collection, analysis, documentation and review of financial information and preparation of underlying disclosures to ensure compliance with SEC/Form 20F requirements.
• Experience complying with SOX requirements.
• Manages processes with timely reviews of organization's financial status and also provides monthly/quarterly and annual closing including financial reports in compliance with GAAP/IFRS accounting and additional reporting methods as needed. Writes, executes and ensures consistent and accurate implementation of accounting policies, particularly for complex GAAP and IFRS matters and ensures the timely and accurate completion of monthly/quarterly account reconciliations.
• Reviews existing and prospective revenue arrangements and trade contracts for appropriate recognition in accordance with accounting standards and company policy; communicates relevant positions to the management team as needed.
• Ensures transactional accounting is in alignment with international transfer pricing statutory requirements.
• Manages processes to provide input used in preparation of budgets, rolling forecasts, monthly forecasting, reviews budget proposals, and prepares necessary supporting documentation and justification including inventory, cost of goods sold, sales reserves, samples and other accounts.
• Proactively researches relevant technical accounting and reporting standards to validate company positions, related best practices, pending changes, and/or industry consensus and communicate to management or other stakeholders as needed via whitepapers, technical memorandums or periodic training sessions.
• Perform statistical analysis on sales reserves and validate estimates for reasonableness and compliance with relevant accounting standards. Work closely to support the Planning & Decision Support teams in forecasting net sales within acceptable tolerance of actual results by communicating any necessary true-ups and providing key accounting input.
• Evaluates, develops, and maintains internal and operational controls necessary to comply with accounting best practices and corporate policy. Monitors relevant new accounting guidance issued by the IASB and FASB and assesses impact on business.
• Participates and shares responsibility for internal and external audits of company's records, including financials and analytical reporting. Participate in periodic inventory accounts to ensure inventory in hand and cost of goods sold are aligned to insure the accuracy of inventory vs cost of goods sold
• Additional duties as directed.
Education, Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
• Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance or related field or equivalent experience required.
• CPA certification preferred.
• 10 years+ experience in accounting, finance and people management (Big 4 audit a plus).
• Background in pharmaceutical sales & marketing organization or large manufacturing environment with accounting supervisory experience, preferred.
• Must demonstrate strong analytical skills and knowledge of business and industry standards. Thorough understanding and application of GAAP and IFRS.
• Experience with Transfer Pricing and various tax/statutory accounting requirements, a plus.
• Experience demonstrating strong technical and analytical skills and a proven track record of success working in a collaborative environment.
• Ability to lead change initiatives and process improvements as well as be solution driven as it relates resolving complex financial situations.
• Self-starter, works well under pressure and is able to meet deadlines
