Manager, Compliance & Controls - Customer Support COE
About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Manager to lead the control and compliance function within our Customer Support Center of Excellence (COE). In this important role, you will be responsible for supporting the development, implementation, and oversight of a framework that ensures compliance with relevant regulations and policies. You will proactively identify and mitigate risks, conduct control assessments, and promote a culture of compliance within the Customer Support organization.
What you’ll do:
Risk Management & Control:
Support the development and implementation of a risk management framework for the Customer Support COE, encompassing all lines of business
Contribute to the maintenance of the risk control matrix, ensuring alignment with organizational risk appetite and regulatory requirements
Assist in providing guidance to management on emerging risks and compliance trends within the customer support landscape
Monitor industry best practices and regulatory changes and assist in adapting the risk management framework to maintain compliance
Operational Support:
Assist in the design and implementation of effective operational controls across customer support functions, including work-from-home programs and third-party vendor relationships
Participate in the execution of process and control readiness assessments, identifying and mitigating potential risks
Conduct regular control evaluations, including operating effectiveness testing, to ensure ongoing compliance and identify areas for improvement
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Audit, Compliance, ORM, and Legal, to ensure alignment and effective risk management
Potentially manage a small team of risk and compliance professionals, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement (depending on team structure)
Compliance & Advisory:
Serve as a subject matter resource, providing guidance and support to the Customer Support team on aspects of risk and compliance
Assist in identifying and investigating potential compliance violations, and support remediation efforts in collaboration with relevant stakeholders
Develop and deliver training programs to enhance risk awareness and compliance knowledge within the Customer Support organization
Prepare reports for management, highlighting key risks, control effectiveness, and remediation plans
What you bring:
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a related field
5+ years of experience in risk management, compliance, or a related field
Solid understanding of risk management frameworks and control principles
Familiarity with relevant regulations and industry best practices related to customer support operations and financial landscape
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
Excellent communication (written and verbal), interpersonal and presentation skills
Ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
Professional certifications such as CPA, CIA, CISA, or CRISC are a plus
