Inviting applications for the role of Manager – Technical Accounting
Role description
We are looking for a finance professional for a role in Controllership – Technical Accounting.
Responsibilities
• As a Technical Accounting Manager, you will be responsible for providing mentorship on complex accounting matters to ensure accurate accounting and disclosure.
• Performing accounting research, documentation through memos, and adoption of all newly issued standards by the FASB/IASB
• Managing and implementing new accounting standards
• Maintaining and updating technical accounting positions memos and documenting new positions memos
• Working collaboratively with the operational accounting team and business functions
• Owning internal and external reporting processes including the preparation of supporting schedules and disclosures in accordance with U.S. GAAP especially Form 10-Q and 10- K disclosures
• Managing journal entry recognition and account reconciliations for key technical areas
• Assisting with the successful completion of the year-end audit and quarterly review
• Providing accounting support for special ad-hoc projects
• Partnering with financial reporting manager and interfacing with external auditors to facilitate the timely completion of various audits with an emphasis on complex transactions and the financial reporting process
Qualifications we seek in you
Minimum qualifications
• Qualified CPA or Chartered Accountant
• Proven years of experience in public accounting or a mix of public accounting and US listed company work experience or Big 4 public accounting
• Experience with SEC reporting requirements and public company readiness initiatives
• Prior experience with risk assessment and control documentation
• Ability to clearly and concisely document and effectively communicate sophisticated accounting and reporting issues to finance and non-finance personnel (i.e., can communicate technical accounting matters in plain English)
• Expertise in project management including the ability to establish and consistently meet deadlines
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, forward-moving environment
• Exceptional attention to detail with ability to identify issues and propose solutions to complex or non-standard situations
• Ability to learn and understand financial accounting systems/software
