Mo te tunga | About the role

You will be responsible for leading your teams of Property and Facilities Managers to ensure our assets are well managed and maintained and remain fit for purpose. This team will also identify and manage any capital improvements, this includes relocations, home set ups, modifications & minor refurbishments.

Working closely with the National Property Services team and Capital Projects and Programmes team develop business cases as required for capital investments across our Work Environments (Commercial Office sites) and Residential Homes. Your team will be seen as the asset owner and is the key point of contact and gateway to our regional operations team ensuring we are meeting their needs for all Facilities and Asset Management needs.

This function will also work closely with our key suppliers (along with the National Property Services, Secure Residences and Capital Projects and Programmes teams), ensuring we have close contractor management and oversight on the contracts in place, regular partnering meetings are held, performance measures are reviewed regularly, health and safety requirements are meet, including training and overlapping duties of responsibility are clear and understood.

Key requirements of the role include:

10 years' plus of experience in a facilities management, asset management, or lease management or operational property management environment.
Demonstrated people leadership experience.
Strong environmental awareness - considers the environment in which the Ministry operates and applies that understanding in their work programme.
Working knowledge of the Health & Safety at Work Act 2015.
Strong financial competency and demonstrated commercial acumen.
Understanding and appreciation of cross-cultural practices in particular; knowledge of tikanga M ori, and Pacific peoples' culture

Annual remuneration for this position starts between $174,846 and $1+3,56+ dependant on experience.
