The Role
The Residence Office Assistant will provide administrative/clerical assistance to the Residence Coordinator and assist in the day to day operations of the Residence Department located on the Fairview Northwestern Polytechnic Campus. Provide the best possible service to all students, and clients, as well, provide information on general inquiries regarding Residence services. Due to the nature of the academic schedule and with students in residence, there is a ongoing cycle of students checking out every eight weeks with and new students coming in within the same weekend. Managing peak workloads and prioritizing work during these time frames is crucial with the ability of flex hours for checkout dates and check-in dates. The Office Assistant will be responsible for student confirmations, rent payments and cash and balance reconciliations. Address communications of payments in arrears.

Job Requirements
The successful candidate will have an Office Administration Diploma. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be accepted. Necessary skills and attributes to be successful in this role include:
proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook;
strong organizational and multi-tasking skills;
Previous experience of cash handling and operating Moneris machine.
excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
ability to build strong relationships across the organization; and
a high level of integrity, professionalism and accountability.
