Mō tēnei tūranga - About the role:

We currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced analyst to join our small team located in Dunedin. Reporting to the Planning & Performance Manager, you’ll be responsible for identifying community risks, providing evidence-based analysis to support decision-making, creating an intelligence-led profile of the operating environment to provide the frontline with high quality reports, and using ArcGIS products to display visual information effectively.

You will:

Have experience in researching and analysing information, identifying risk trends to produce tailored written reports. You’ll have an open mind and inquisitive nature.
Adept at working with information systems and tools (particularly ArcGIS and Excel) to identify and utilise data sets and information resources from both internal structured data and opensource unstructured information.
Be comfortable managing Communication Centre pre-planned response data used to dispatch emergency responses within a bespoke ICT application (training provided). Requires attention to detail.
Adept at building collaborative working relationships with a wide range of people and organisations. A team player.

The Planning and Intelligence Officer’s key function is to coordinate and maintain the regions response data ensuring adherence to national data standards and consistency of resourcing/response in line with national policy. The position is proactive in leading the stakeholder relationships gathering intelligence that assists, enhances and informs Fire and Emergency New Zealand planning.

To be successful in this role, we’d expect you will have:

Relevant operational experience
Sound Information Technology ability
Proficient communication and influencing skills.
Ability to understand and interpret Standard Operating Procedures.

The salary range for this role is $95,096 - $105,662 - dependent on skills and experience relevant to the role.
