A Day in the Life
Our Global Diabetes Capability Center in Pune is expanding to serve more people living with diabetes globally. Our state-of-the-art facility is dedicated to transforming diabetes management through innovative solutions and technologies that reduce the burden of living with diabetes.
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Principal Accountant to join our team.
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.
Month End Closure:
• Lead the month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring all financial transactions are recorded accurately, like financial provision, lease accounting, payroll entries, necessary reclass entries etc.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to gather required information and meet deadlines.
• Prepare and review closing reports and other analytical or closing reports.
• To prepare Balance Sheet reconciliation on monthly basis
• Analyze financial variances and prepare detailed reports for senior management, identifying any discrepancies and proposing corrective actions
• Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting procedures during the month-end closing process
• Assist in the preparation of management reporting
Intercompany Management:
• To handle intercompany monthly cross charges
• Follow up for recovery of outstanding AR and processing payments
• Ensure proper documentation and compliance with internal and external policies regarding intercompany transaction
Taxation:
• Handle TDS compliance of the company – Monthly TDS payment, quarterly return filing, TDS certificates distribution, managing vendor’s queries
• Manage GST Compliance – Monthly filing of GSTR-Returns, payments, yearly GST returns
• To prepare GST reconciliation on monthly basis
• Assist in preparing GST Refund submission
• Assist in advance tax calculation, computation of income
Other Compliances:
• Manage various return filings like MSME-1, Foreign Liability and Assets form
• To conduct actuarial valuation for Gratuity and Leave Encashment
• To update the commercial registrations as and when required
• Assist in various Non-STPI return filings like SOFTEX, APR, MPR
Audit Support:
• Assist in internal and external audit during financial audits like statutory audit, tax audit, transfer pricing audit etc.
• Provide necessary documentation, explanations, and support to facilitate the audit process.
• Address audit findings and implement corrective actions as needed.
Compliance and Internal Controls:
• Ensure adherence to MDT corporate policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor and maintain compliance with tax regulations and financial reporting obligations
• Develop and maintain documentation related to compliance activities and procedures
• Maintain confidentiality and safeguard the integrity of financial data.
Required Knowledge and Experience:
• Chartered Accountant / ACCA
• Minimum of 7/8 years of relevant experience in accounting or finance, with a focus on controllership functions in the areas of Internal Controls, Taxation, books closure and Audit.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and internal controls.
• Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems (SAP).
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• High attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining accuracy and confidentiality.
• Working exposure with MNC or Medical devise / FMCG is preferred
