Job Description
Black Diamond Capital Management, a $11 billion asset manager has commenced a search to retain experienced Private Equity Fund Accountant for its growing team in Mumbai, India.
Candidates will be based in our Powai office and will work with the US team and Private Equity Controller.
Major Responsibilities
• Maintain the books and records of the private equity funds in accordance with U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Perform Cash and Position reconciliation and booking daily activities, trade and cash activities, interest debit and paydown activities.
• Review, approve and prepare:
• Investor capital call/distribution notices and capital statements.
• The calculation of investor commitments and remaining commitments
• Distribution and ensure waterfall models in accordance with Limited Partnership Agreement (LPA)
• Fund and investor level internal rate of return (IRR).
• Fund’s audited and unaudited financial statements and other investor reporting.
• Work closely with and manage the day to day interactions with the auditor, tax preparer and administrator
• Oversee compliance with relevant regulatory requirements.
Required Experience
• Minimum 3 years accounting experience (administrator side is OK)
• PE accounting experience preferred or accountant at large corporates.
• Has strong knowledge of accounting – CA would be preferred.
• Experience with bank loans (term loans and revolvers) and bonds is a major plus.
• Knowledge of Investran, Geneva and Wall Street Office (WSO) is a plus.
• Effective communication skills to interact with all levels of the organization.
• Must have strong excel skills.
• Superior attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and manage time to meet deadlines.
• Must be sharp and be able to problem solve quickly
