We are in search of a Project Accountant to join our team in Houston, Texas. This role is crucial to our financial operations and involves managing all fiscal aspects related to our projects. The Project Accountant will be responsible for budgeting, expense tracking, forecasting, and reporting. This position will also be very analytical. This position offers a contract to permanent employment opportunity.Responsibilities:• Oversee all financial elements of project accounting, including budget creation, expense tracking, forecasting, and report generation.• Distribute project-associated costs to relevant departments to maintain the budget.• Conduct a thorough review, reconciliation, and reporting on project budgets, financial commitments, actual expenses, and revenues.• Collaborate closely with project managers and other stakeholders, providing them with pertinent financial data and aiding in the financial management of their projects.• Assist with project audits, ensuring the completeness and accuracy of all financial information.• Uphold adherence to financial laws and regulations, and ensure compliance with our financial procedures and policies.• Utilize Accounting Software Systems and tools like Microsoft Excel and Sage 300 for efficient and accurate data processing and analysis.• Handle both Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) functions related to the projects.• Work on Bid Evaluation and Bid Proposal tasks as part of the project accounting responsibilities.• Perform data queries as needed to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
