Local Unit & Position Description
GSS Finance is seeking a highly motivated candidate who is driven by process standardization and optimization on a global scale. As a R2R Subject Matter Expert, you will collaborate closely with the GPO, R2R, and the PEC manager. With guidance from the GPO and R2R, you will be responsible for the following key tasks, among others:
Conducting analytics on the utilization of the Oracle chart of Accounts, focusing on identifying process gaps and standardization opportunities.
Assisting in the implementation of a new process/tool for maintaining the Oracle chart of accounts in collaboration with GSS IT and Group Accounting.
Supporting the ongoing review and maintenance of the Oracle chart of accounts, including handling requests for changes to the chart of accounts.
Performing analytics on balance sheet reconciliations in OneStream, with a focus on issue identification and root-cause analysis to drive standardization and address process gaps.
Assisting in standardizing the fixed assets accounting process, specifically by documenting a procedure for asset acquisitions.
Participating in end-to-end process documentation and flowcharting within R2R, ensuring updates that consider information flows between Business Areas, GSS Streams, and automated interfaces with various IT applications (production systems, Basware Cloud, OneStream, etc.).
Collaborating with stakeholders from other GSS Finance streams, GSS IT, and the Business Areas to understand the impact of changes in their processes on R2R.
Assisting with localisation and providing secondary ledger support for Chief Accountants.
Analyzing the database of Knowledge-based Articles (KBA) within GSS Finance to reduce the number of unapproved KBAs and drive standardization.
Providing Level 2 support for cases in MyGSS and creating KBAs in response to these cases.
Serving as a key member of the Oracle super user group.
Acting as the application administrator in OneStream RCM (reconciliation tool).
Acting as a backup to the GPO R2R for other processes such as approving requests to open restricted accounts and Oracle access requests.
Standardizing RTR activities across all regions/Centers and driving efficiencies in daily operations.
Position Qualifications
The ideal candidate should possess the following experience and qualities:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration, preferably with a Chartered Accountant or similar certification.
Minimum of 4 years of experience in finance and accounting, with knowledge of R2R processes and accounting principles (IFRS is a plus).
Experience in process documentation and internal controls.
Understanding of interfaces between accounting processes and IT applications.
Basic understanding of consolidation accounting.
Demonstrated experience in analyzing large datasets.
Proficiency in tools such as Power BI, Power Apps, and MS Office suite.
Experience with analytical tools in Excel (e.g., Smart Views, Get Cells, OLAP queries, SQL, etc.).
Familiarity with Visio or other flowcharting platforms.
Project management skills are an asset.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Curiosity to dive deep into data, analyze cases, and present problem statements effectively.
