Qualifications and Skills:
• Bachelors or masters degree in accounting, Finance, Management, or a related field.
• Experience:
• 3-5 years in revenue accounting or a similar role, with preference for candidates from gaming, online entertainment, or similar industries.
Technical Skills:
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., NetSuite, QuickBooks) and advanced Excel.
• Experience with gaming systems or revenue management platforms is a plus.
Knowledge:
• Strong understanding of revenue recognition standards, lease accounting, and general accounting principles.
Core Competencies:
• Attention to detail for accurate revenue processing and reporting.
• Analytical skills for reconciliations and managing complex revenue adjustments.
• Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate and explain financial concepts.
Revenue Adjustments:
• Accurately record and update revenue changes from bonuses, player winnings, refunds, and regulatory fees.
• Maintain compliance with industry standards and ensure accurate financial reporting of gaming revenue streams.
User Acquisition True-Up and Accruals:
• Reconcile costs associated with new player acquisition, including marketing and affiliate fees.
• Track and adjust customer acquisition costs based on actual player activity to ensure accurate financial reporting.
Revenue Reclassifications:
• Categorize revenue across various sources (e.g., online games, live events, virtual games) based on jurisdiction, product type, and promotional activity.
• Update revenue classifications to reflect regulatory changes and portfolio adjustments.
Intercompany Journal Entries:
• Manage transactions between entities within the organization, ensuring accurate recording of shared costs, royalties, and internal transfers.
• Support compliance with intercompany agreements and audit processes.
Accrual and Liability Management:
• Record and adjust liabilities arising from player balances, jackpots, bonus payouts, and gaming taxes.
• Ensure accurate reporting of accrued expenses related to licensing, regulatory compliance, and taxes.
Developer Revenue Management
• Ensure that revenue from external game developers is accurately recorded, reported, and in compliance with contractual agreements.
• Manage and account for revenue share agreements with third- party developers and game providers.
• Work closely with product and legal teams to track and report on developer royalties, revenue-sharing arrangements, and other financial obligations
Collaboration Across Departments:
• Work closely with operations, legal, compliance, and product development teams to align on revenue forecasts, promotions, and game offerings.
• Integrate regulatory and compliance considerations into financial calculations.
Reporting and Analysis:
• Generate detailed financial reports analyzing revenue performance by product type and region.
• Provide insights into metrics such as player lifetime value, engagement rates, and player churn to guide strategic decision-making.
• This role may require occasional extended hours during peak periods such as month-end close.
