Revenue Recognition Accountant

Here’s a Summary Of The Role

Reporting to the Revenue Accounting Manager , this role will support the YouGov group in accurately recognizing the revenue correctly. The role requires a good understanding of order to cash processes such as invoicing, collections, account receivables, order management, sales order review, order processing and order fulfilment.

Here’s a breakdown of what you’ll do (not all of it, just the important stuff):
• Using the IFRS 15 checklist, approve sales orders for US, UK, Europe, Canada and LATAM.
• Identify multi element deals, calculation of fair valuation and submitting the fair value impact on reporting dates.
• Month end Revenue closing entries and adjustment entries.
• Balance sheet adjustments between contract assets, liabilities and deferred revenue offset adjustments.
• Ensure the SOX controls in revenue process are followed.
• Working on key projects to review contract assets and liabilities balance on periodic basis to ensure reported balance are correct.
• Identify potential opportunities for system automations in Revenue Process.
• Building relationships with regional Finance Teams and the Sales Operations team to establish ways of working.
• Prepare monthly revenue dashboard & MIS reporting

These are the essentials you’ll need to get an interview:
• 5 or more years of experience of accounting domain.
• Knowledge on revenue accounting is preferred.
• Experience of using NetSuite and Power BI preferred.
• Attention to detail to ensure accounting entries are correct.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong service orientation/responsiveness
• Excellent Excel skills
• IFRS 15/ASC 606 experience preferred
• Ability to draft papers to justify accounting decisions
• Experience of process improvement

Shift Time - Monday to Friday (11.00 am to 8.00 pm IST)
