Title: Salesforce Field Service Configuration Engineer
Location: Remote
Time: US EST Shift
Duration: 6 months + Extendable
Experience: 3+ years
Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Salesforce Field Service Configuration Engineer to join our Professional Services team. In this client-facing role, you will be deployed to lead the technical configuration and implementation of Salesforce Field Service (SFS) projects for our diverse client base. You will partner with Solution Architects, Project Managers, and client stakeholders to translate complex field operations requirements into scalable, tailored Salesforce solutions. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver with deep hands-on SFS experience who thrives in a fast-paced, project-based consulting environment and knows how to guide a client from discovery to a successful Go-Live.
Key Responsibilities
Client Implementation & Project Delivery:
• Requirements Translation: Participate in client discovery sessions to understand their dispatching, routing, and mobile workforce needs, translating business requirements into actionable technical specifications.
• End-to-End Build: Lead the declarative configuration of the SFS managed package for client instances, managing the setup of Service Territories, Operating Hours, Shifts, Resource Absences, and Skills.
• UAT and Go-Live Support: Lead User Acceptance Testing (UAT) defect resolution, assist with data migration (e.g., loading assets, work rules), and provide dedicated technical support during client Go-Live phases.
System Configuration & Optimization:
• Dispatcher Console Customization: Configure the Gantt chart, map views, and build custom actions to optimize the daily workflow for client dispatchers.
• Routing and Scheduling: Implement and fine-tune Scheduling Policies, Work Rules, Service Objectives, and Relevance Groups to meet the client's specific SLAs and routing efficiency goals.
• Mobile App Deployment: Customize the Salesforce Field Service Mobile App for the client’s field technicians, ensuring offline capabilities, mobile flows, and page layouts are optimized for their specific field use-case.
• Process Automation: Build robust, scalable declarative automations using Salesforce Flows to streamline client operations, such as automated work order generation or customer notifications.
Client Enablement & Handoff
• Training: Conduct knowledge transfer sessions and technical training for client administrators, dispatchers, and field managers.
• Documentation: Create comprehensive "as-built" documentation, technical design blueprints, and configuration runbooks for the client and our internal managed services team.
Required Qualifications
Experience:
• Minimum 2–3 years of hands-on configuration experience specifically with Salesforce Field Service (formerly FSL).
• 3+ years on the Salesforce platform overall.
• Prior experience in a consulting, agency, or systems integrator (SI) environment working on full-lifecycle client implementations.
Certifications:
• Salesforce Certified Administrator
• Salesforce Certified Field Service Consultant (nice to have)
Technical Skills:
• Deep understanding of the SFS data model and package architecture.
• Mastery of Salesforce declarative tools, specifically Lightning Flows.
• Proven experience configuring the SFS Mobile App and deep knowledge of its offline sync behaviors.
Consulting & Soft Skills:
• Excellent client-facing communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts, platform limitations, and best practices to non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to manage time effectively across multiple concurrent client projects (if applicable).
