Responsibilities
• Provide production accounting services for active shows during the pre-prep period for shows in the post, including payroll, accounts payable, petty cash and p-cards, journal entries, and trial balance maintenance
• Candidate shall have the ability to assist Manager in providing accurate and timely cost reporting on shows in the post the requisite skills to research and analyze cost accounts and to advise on cost reporting to other in-house assistant accountants if needed
• Provide Manager with administrative and production finance support (such as banking, new show set-ups, software trouble-shooting, 10++ reconciliations, document storage/management program) and special projects as needed
• Oversees the day-to-day accounting activities
• Senior accountants may prepare and review complex entries and supporting documentation
• Prepare/review account reconciliations, analysis, and certifications
• Senior accountants will analyze, complete and communicate detailed variance analyses
• Build, foster, and maintain good working relationships with members of the Accounting Business Services group and its stakeholders
• Analyze production and development expenses and record accruals as necessary
• Work with Legal and Business Affairs and review production contracts to understand the timing and amounts of milestone payments to ensure timely remittance for projects in production
Qualifications
• Communicate with Finance staff to validate show budgets, anticipated overruns, and premiere dates
• Gather supporting evidence for internal and external audits
• Analyze residual expenses
• Prepare quarterly schedule reporting and tax packages
• Bachelor's degree is required and a C.P.A
• Three or more years of Feature (or entertainment industry) production finance/accounting experience
