Job Description: Senior Accountant (India)
Position Overview:We are seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3-5 years of relevant accounting experience, a strong understanding of Indian accounting standards and regulations, and a proven track record of effectively managing financial processes. As a Senior Accountant, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial records while providing valuable insights to support decision-making.
Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with Indian Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) or Indian Accounting Standards (Ind AS) as applicable.
General Ledger Management: Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and consistency of financial data. Investigate and resolve discrepancies and irregularities.
Accounts Payable and Receivable: Oversee accounts payable and receivable functions, including processing invoices, preparing payments, and monitoring aging reports. Maintain relationships with vendors and customers to ensure timely payments and collections.
Tax Compliance: Ensure timely and accurate completion of all tax filings, including Goods and Services Tax (GST), income tax, and other relevant tax obligations. Stay updated with changes in tax regulations and incorporate them into financial processes.
Budgeting and Forecasting: Collaborate with management to develop and monitor budgets and forecasts. Provide analysis of budget variances and contribute to financial planning initiatives.
Audit Preparation: Assist in the preparation of internal and external audits by organizing and providing necessary documentation, explanations, and support to auditors.
Financial Analysis: Perform financial analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities. Provide insights and recommendations to management based on the analysis of financial data.
Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate and enhance financial processes and procedures to optimize efficiency, accuracy, and internal controls.
Team Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate financial information is communicated effectively. Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members.
Compliance: Stay informed about changes in accounting regulations and standards in India. Ensure compliance with relevant financial laws and regulations.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of Indian accounting principles, standards, and taxation.
• Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Should have mastered in tools such as Microsoft Office, Tally ERP , GST Filing Softwares etc.,
