Senior Accountant

Robert Half is looking for an experienced Senior Accountant with a desire to join a reputable company in the Printing/Publishing industry. This role prepares and consolidates financial statements, analyzes and reconciles accounts, analyzes cash flow, creates budgets and forecasts, prepares audits, and manages internal control maintenance and regulatory reporting to attain company goals. The role requires superb analytical skills, and the work environment is challenging and fast-paced. This Senior Accountant role is with a company in the Printing/Publishing field and is located in Charleston, South Carolina. How you will make an impact
• Partake in various department-wide initiatives
• Produce error-free monthly accounting close procedures and deliverables such as journal entries, reconciliations, reports in compliance with GAAP
• Provide analysis on financial results (trends, performance metrics, benchmarks)
• Ensure corporate accounting policies, procedures, and controls are followed when working with business partners and be able to provide support on special requests
• Strong interest in continuously improving the automation of the accounting and reporting process
• Provide assistance in coordinating quarterly reviews and testing with internal and external
• Prepare monthly consolidated P& L and Balance Sheet flux analysis for management reporting
• Prepare Balance Sheet account reconciliations
• Delegate resources to Ad-hoc projects as necessary

Requirements
• Prior experience in a public accounting environment is highly valued
• Familiarity with corporate performance management (CPM) and business intelligence systems required
• Self-starter and strong ethical standards
• Proven knowledge of internal control review
• Well-founded grasp of Fixed Asset Accounting
• Internal Control experience
• Foundational knowledge in Operating Budget
• Strong familiarity with Balance Sheet Account Reconciliation
• Knowledge of Monthly Balance Sheet Reconciliation
• Solid understanding of financial reporting
• SOX internal control assessments (Section 404) experience
• 3-5 years of overall general accounting experience, ideally with Big 4 experience
• Strong analytical skills, with the ability to exercise good judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analysis
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Ability to work in a dynamic and changing environment
• Commitment and abilities to meet critical business deadlines
• BA/BS in Accounting, CPA credentials are preferred
• High attention to detail
• Skilled at time management
• Current and relevant ERP system experience
