The Financial Reporting & Accounting department advises on the accounting treatment for complex transactions, performs all accounting, and prepares all external financial statements and regulatory reports.
As part of DTCC’s Financial Reporting and Accounting group you will have the opportunity to work with variety of Oracle software products including an Enterprise Resource Planning System (ERP) with integrated modules including Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Procurement, Fixed Assets, HR & Payroll, and Leases
DTCC also uses several applications in the Oracle EPM suite of products to report on and reconcile data from the ERP using applications such as Financial Close and Consolidations (FCCS), Account Reconciliations Cloud Services (ARCS), Oracle Analytics Cloud Services (OACS), Enterprise Planning and Budgeting Overview Cloud Services (EPBCS) and Tax Reporting Cloud Services (TRCS). Several of these applications (including the ERP) provide the ability to access and manipulate data through an excel tool called SmartView (Oracle Essbase) making it easier to see trends and perform different types of analysis.
What You'll Do
Own and manage the end-to-end process for recording allocations into the general ledger, a process where shared costs are allocated to entities within the group. This includes extraction analysis and validation of allocation data using Excel SmartView ( Oracle Essbase) and importing allocation journals into Oracle ERP.
Analyze financial data prior to allocation for Chart of Accounts (COA) violations and liaise with various departments for further action.
Prepare monthly reconciliation of pre-allocated and post-allocated expenses and general ledger balances.
Prepare monthly allocation validation reports.
Perform ad hoc allocation research as requested by management.
Prepare and present the month over month revenue trend analysis/validation and reporting as part of the CFO review of revenue during the month end close.
Monitor intercompany general accounts and ensure intercompany breaks are resolved, which includes preparing various intercompany break ad hoc analysis reports.
Prepare monthly Intercompany(IC) settlement report and prepare/load IC settlement journal entry.
Assist with IC transactions, as necessary.
Responsible for running and reviewing various control reports such as Posted and Unposted Journal Entry Reports communicating with FR&A team to resolve any exceptions.
Monitors and manages month end close tasks in Oracle FCCS Task Manager application.
Prepares month end close calendar for publishing prior to the start of the close and communicates month end close updates during the monthly close.
Prepare and post journal entries
Identify process improvement opportunities and present recommended solutions
Create and/or update policies and procedures related to areas of responsibility
Talents needed for success:
MS Excel (advanced - Vlookups, Pivot Tables)
Familiarity with Oracle accounting software, a plus
Familiarity with Oracle Smart View (Essbase, FCCS), a plus
Experience with foreign currencies, a plus
Good understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (U.S. GAAP)
Understanding of Month End Close Processes
Strong ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines, continually meet established deadlines.
Flexibility in team assignment shifts, willingness to pitch in wherever possible
High problem solving and analytical skills
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Financial Accounting, or related fields
