Accountant (International Hotel Experience Required) Key Responsibilities: Month-End Close Process: Perform month-end closing activities for 10 hotels, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. Payroll Review: Review payroll entries generated via Inova payroll software, ensuring accuracy and compliance. Daily Hotel Activity Review: Review and balance daily hotel activity entries, which are generated through the interface between the accounting software M3 and the hotel PMS system. Bank Reconciliation: Record bank statement journal entries. Reconcile bank accounts to ensure all transactions are accounted for and discrepancies are addressed. Journal Entries: Make necessary adjusting and accrual entries to reflect accurate financial statements. Internal Controls & GAAP Compliance: Assist in the implementation, maintenance, and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures, ensuring full compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles). Cash Management: Ensure cash deposits are made in a timely manner. Verify that cash and credit card deposits match the revenue recorded in the PMS system. Balance Sheet Reconciliation: Reconcile balance sheet accounts, including guest ledger and city ledger accounts receivable (AR). Profit & Loss (P&L) Review: Analyse the P&L statement by comparing actual results with the budget and prior periods to identify any expenses that exceed the budget, unusual activities, or duplicates. Audit Preparation: Assist in preparations for end-of-year audits, ensuring all necessary documentation and reconciliations are complete and accurate. Reporting & Ad-Hoc Tasks: Prepare various financial reports and undertake additional tasks as assigned. Required Qualifications: A certificate course or degree in accounting. A minimum of 1 year of work experience in accounting is preferable, though not mandatory. Experience in international hotel accounting is a must. Other Qualities: Multi-tasking & Prioritization: Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively and prioritize work to meet deadlines. Independence & Punctuality: Capable of working
independently with minimal supervision and maintaining punctuality. Team Collaboration: A team player with strong organizational skills, ready to collaborate with various levels of team members. Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with colleagues at all levels. Shift Flexibility: Willingness to work the 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM IST shift.
